Poche Pictures Announces Batgirl Fan Film
Help needed to finance the film Hollywood won't.

January 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ --Tired of the cheesy super hero films put forth by Hollywood, Richard Poche is turning to comic book fans for funding of his fan film.

"Batgirl: Vampire Nights" will be a 35 minute short to be filmed in late April. To help bring "Batgirl" to life the team at Poche Pictures has turned to fundraising efforts through Kickstarter.com, a crowdfunding service utilized by a variety of artists to fund their projects.

Poche Pictures is hoping to raise at least $2,000 by March 24, 2012. Supporters can donate anywhere from $20 to $500 through http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pochepictures/batgirl-fan-film

The final product will be shown on Youtube in HD. Donors contributing $20 will receive a DVD copy of the film. Higher donation amounts garner personalized autographs of the actor of their choice.

"I'm hoping to raise at least two grand, which would be about a third of the budget," said Poche. "The rest I can finance myself. This will be my second go around at making a 'fan film' as it was great fun. This time we will have a bigger budget and a more experienced cast. They are talented, passionate, and knowledgeable about the history of their characters. It should make for a memorable entry into this growing sub genre of movies."

"Batgirl: Vampire Nights" begins when Robin falls into the clutches of a vicious vampire gang. Batgirl and Catwoman forge an uneasy alliance as they try to take down the coven of vampires. The short promises to have plenty of horror, film noir and satire of the world's hottest super heroines.

Richard Poche is a San Francisco Bay Area based filmmaker. He has been making indie films since 2002, including the forthcoming zombie anthology "Long Live The Dead", to be released through AFCinema. His vampire feature, "Crimson", was featured in Brazil's Fantaspoa Film Fest and his boxing documentary, "The Fight Life", was featured at last year's Oakland Underground Film Festival.

Poche Pictures has been producing indie films since 2002. Among the films include the boxing documentaries "Corazon" and "The Fight Life", the cult vampire hit "Crimson" as well as the forthcoming zombie anthology "Long Live The Dead."
