BALAM Dance Theatre to Perform Nutcracker Ballet's Grand Pas de Deux at Staten Island's St George Theatre
BALAM Dance Theatre returns to Staten Island's St George Theatre to perform the Nutcracker ballet's Grand Pas de Deux in the annual Christmas Show from December 16-18.
NEW YORK, NY, November 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- BALAM Dance Theatre returns for its seventh year to perform the Nutcracker ballet's Grand Pas de Deux in the St George Theatre's annual Christmas Show on Staten Island, New York. The Christmas Show's performances are Friday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 17 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, December 18 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tickets range from $10 to $40, with a Sunday night special of all tickets $10 or $20.

BALAM's Grand Pas de Deux, from Peter Tchaikovsky's magical and passionate ballet, "The Nutcracker Suite", features Robin Gilbert, BALAM's company ballerina, in the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Carlos Fittante, BALAM's artistic director, in the role of Cavalier. Fittante created the choreography for the Christmas Show's Grand Pas de Deux blending the delicacy of point with exciting lifts and turns of balletic partnering to convey idyllic love in the land of the sweets.

Robin Gilbert and Carlos Fittante dancing the Grand Pas de Deux are the highlight of the performance. They inspire the children and the entire cast," said Doreen Cugno, Artistic Director of the Christmas Show.
